Counselling

Don’t make this journey alone …

Raising a child/youth with Special Needs is a challenge that requires no less than all your strength and heart.  It can put a strain on family relationships if communication is inadequate or inappropriately done.  Both parents and the child/youth may feel bewildered, misunderstood and resentful.  Over time, negative communication patterns can become bad habits and vicious cycles that only serve to build higher walls and greater frustration. Often, the child/youth who is unable to verbalise his/her frustrations then begins to ‘act out’ in other negative ways.

You and your child need not walk this path alone.

We are here for you.

Whether it is to lend a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on or a fresh perspective to things, we can walk the journey with you and your child through weekly counselling sessions that seek to support you in every way possible.  Counselling sessions also include discussion and exploration of topics like ‘Disabilities and Expectations’, ‘Social Relationships’, ‘Self-concept’, ‘Career Development’, ‘Conflict resolution’ and many others pertaining to how you and your child can better self-manage in life.

We provide the following individual and group counselling services:

  1. Counselling for children and youth with special needs
  2. Counselling for parents / caregivers of children and youth with special needs
  3. Counselling for teachers of children and youth with special needs
  4. Counselling for friends/schoolmates of children and youth with special needs

Don’t struggle alone.

Drop us a line and see how we can be of help to you.

It could prove to be a turning point in yours and your child’s journey.
